Imminent and Probable Future expressions

To express future that is going to happen we can use expressions like be on the verge, on the brink of, on the point of, and, because of the preposition we need gerund form of the verb, yet most of them use infinitive in expressions which this 'hangman' type of game is supposed to remind you.
